Child safety
Child Safety Standards.
Last updated: October 6, 2026 · Our standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE).
If a child is in immediate danger — call your local emergency number or the police first, then report it to us.
01 · Who we are
Who we are
FOMO Social is a social app where people discover events, share photos and videos as memories, Forts and stories, and message their friends. It is operated by Dealide Inc., a Delaware corporation ("FOMO Social", "we", "us").
These Child Safety Standards explain how we protect children from sexual abuse and exploitation in the FOMO Social mobile app and on our website, thefomosocial.com. They apply to everyone on FOMO Social — users, brands, organizers and partners — alongside our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
02 · Zero tolerance
Zero tolerance
FOMO Social has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). Content or behaviour that sexually abuses, exploits or endangers children is not allowed anywhere on FOMO Social — not in posts, Forts, stories, comments, profiles, event pages, direct messages or group chats.
When we become aware of child sexual abuse material (CSAM), we remove it, close the accounts involved and report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and the relevant authorities.
In these standards, a "child" or "minor" is anyone under 18, whatever the minimum age to use the app.
03 · What we prohibit
What we prohibit
This includes, but is not limited to:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — any image, video or other content that shows a minor in sexually explicit conduct or in a sexualised way, including drawn, edited or AI-generated material.
- Sexualising minors — sexual comments about minors, sexualised images or descriptions of minors, or content that presents minors as sexual objects.
- Grooming — building trust with a minor in order to sexually abuse or exploit them, online or offline. For example: asking a minor for sexual images, starting sexual conversations with a minor, or arranging to meet a minor for sexual purposes.
- Sextortion — threatening or pressuring anyone, especially a minor, into sending sexual images, money or anything else, including threatening to share intimate images.
- Trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation — advertising, soliciting or facilitating the trafficking or sexual exploitation of a minor, including in exchange for money or gifts.
- Seeking or sharing CSAM — requesting, offering, linking to or pointing people to CSAM, on or off FOMO Social.
- Promoting abuse — content that promotes, normalises or excuses the sexual abuse of children.
The same rules apply to brand campaigns, events and rewards.
04 · Age requirements
Age requirements
- You must be at least 13 years old to use FOMO Social. Where your local law sets a higher minimum age for consenting to online services, that higher age applies to you.
- Brand, organizer and business accounts must be run by someone who is at least 18.
- We ask for your date of birth when you sign up in the app and don't create an account for anyone under 13. Your date of birth can't be changed from your profile afterwards.
We rely on the date of birth people give us. If you think someone under the minimum age is using FOMO Social, report their profile or email us. When we confirm it, we close the account and delete its data.
05 · How we prevent abuse
How we prevent abuse
Everyone on FOMO Social has tools to control who can see and reach them:
- Date of birth at sign-up — required for every app account; sign-ups under 13 are refused.
- Private accounts — switch your account to Private and only followers you approve can see your content or send you messages. You can decline follow requests and remove followers at any time.
- Blocking — a blocked person can't message you, comment on your posts, or see your memories, stories or event attendance, and you won't see theirs.
- Restricting — hide your memories or your event attendance from specific people without blocking them.
- Comment controls — choose who can comment on your posts: everyone, friends, specific people or nobody.
- Visibility controls — choose who sees your event attendance and friends list, and whether people can find you in search.
- Group chats — only someone connected to you by a follow (they follow you or you follow them) can add you to a group chat. On a private account, nobody can follow you without your approval.
- In-app reporting — on profiles, posts, Forts, comments and stories (see below).
06 · How to report
How to report
FOMO Social allows users to report child safety concerns in-app:
- A profile — open the profile and tap the flag icon. If there's no flag (a private account you don't follow, or an account that has blocked you), use Report a Problem in Settings and include their username.
- A post or Fort — open the post's ⋯ menu, or the Fort's menu, and tap Report.
- A comment — swipe the comment left, or press and hold it, and tap Report comment.
- A story — open the story's menu and tap Report to report the person who posted it.
- Someone who messaged you — open their profile from the chat and tap the flag icon, or use Report a Problem in Settings with their username if there's no flag.
- Anything else — go to Settings and tap Report a Problem.
When the app asks for a reason, choose "Child safety (involves a minor)" and write what happened in the details. If your version of the app doesn't show that reason yet, pick the closest one (for example, Nudity or sexual content) and write "child safety" in the details so we can prioritise it.
You can also report on the web at thefomosocial.com/report or by email at safety@thefomosocial.com.
Please don't download, screenshot, forward or attach child sexual abuse material, even to report it — sharing it is illegal in most countries. Tell us the username and where you saw it instead.
You can also report directly to:
- NCMEC CyberTipline (United States) — report.cybertip.org or call 1-800-843-5678
- Te Protejo (Colombia) — teprotejocolombia.org
- Other countries — find your national hotline through INHOPE at inhope.org
07 · What we do with reports
What we do with reports
When we receive a child safety report, we:
- Review it urgently — we treat child safety reports as our most urgent and review them before other reports.
- Remove the content — we remove CSAM and any other content that breaks these standards as soon as we're aware of it.
- Close the accounts involved — accounts that share CSAM or try to groom, exploit or endanger minors are permanently closed.
- Report it — we report apparent CSAM to NCMEC's CyberTipline, as US law requires, and to the relevant law-enforcement authorities in the country concerned when appropriate.
- Preserve evidence — if someone deletes their account while it, something they posted or a comment under one of their posts has a child safety report on it, we first keep a copy of the reported content and the identifying details of the account that posted it, together with the report, so law enforcement can investigate. We keep the copy for 1 year, then delete it.
- Protect the reporter — we never tell the person you reported who reported them.
08 · Working with law enforcement
Working with law enforcement
We cooperate with law enforcement investigating child sexual abuse and exploitation and respond to valid legal requests. Law enforcement agencies can contact us at safety@thefomosocial.com.
09 · Child safety laws
Child safety laws
FOMO Social complies with all relevant child safety laws, including the US federal requirement for online services to report apparent child sexual abuse material to NCMEC (18 U.S.C. § 2258A), and the child protection laws of the countries where FOMO Social is available. Where these standards and the law differ, we follow whichever protects children more.
We report child sexual abuse material and the exploitation of children to regional and national authorities, including NCMEC's CyberTipline in the United States and law enforcement in the country concerned.
