Community Guidelines.
Last updated: October 2026 · The rules for everything you share on FOMO Social.
If someone is in immediate danger — call your local emergency number or the police first, then report it to us.
01 · About these guidelines
About these guidelines
These Community Guidelines are the rules for the FOMO Social app, which is operated by Dealide Inc., a Delaware corporation ("FOMO Social", "we", "us"). They apply to everything you post, send or share on FOMO Social: memories, Forts, stories, comments, likes, direct and group messages, and your profile. Brands and organizers follow them too, in their events, campaigns and rewards.
These guidelines are part of our Terms of Use. You accept them when you create an account or use the app. Anything that's illegal is against these guidelines too, even if it isn't listed below.
FOMO Social is about going out and sharing it. Keep it real, keep it kind, and look out for each other.
02 · Child safety
Child safety
We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), and for anything that sexualises minors. Never post, send, ask for or share:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — any image, video or other content that shows a minor in sexually explicit conduct or in a sexualised way, including drawn, edited or AI-generated material.
- Sexualising minors — sexual comments about minors, sexualised images or descriptions of minors, or content that presents minors as sexual objects.
- Grooming — building trust with a minor in order to sexually abuse or exploit them, online or offline. For example: asking a minor for sexual images, starting sexual conversations with a minor, or arranging to meet a minor for sexual purposes.
- Sextortion — threatening or pressuring anyone, especially a minor, into sending sexual images, money or anything else, including threatening to share intimate images.
When we become aware of it, we remove it, permanently close the accounts involved and report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and law enforcement. Read our Child Safety Standards for the full rules and how to report a child safety concern.
03 · Nudity and sexual content
Nudity and sexual content
FOMO Social is open to everyone 13 and over, so we don't allow:
- Nudity, including exposed genitals, buttocks or breasts.
- Sexual activity, pornography or sexually explicit content, including drawn, edited or AI-generated content.
- Offering or asking for sex, sexual services or sexual images.
This applies everywhere on FOMO Social, including direct and group messages.
04 · Hate, harassment and threats
Hate, harassment and threats
- Hate and discrimination — attacking, dehumanising or excluding people because of their race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, caste, sexual orientation, sex, gender, gender identity, disability, serious illness, age or immigration status, including slurs and hate symbols.
- Harassment and bullying — insulting, shaming or targeting someone, getting others to pile on, or contacting someone again and again after they've made clear they don't want it.
- Threats — threatening to hurt someone or damage their property, or wishing or encouraging serious harm to them, even as a joke.
Talking about these issues to raise awareness, report news or share your own experience is fine, as long as you aren't attacking anyone.
05 · Violence and self-harm
Violence and self-harm
- Violence — calling for or inciting violence, showing graphic violence or gore to shock or celebrate it, or glorifying violent attacks, the people behind them, or violent extremist or criminal groups.
- Dangerous behaviour — dares, challenges or stunts that are likely to get someone seriously hurt.
- Suicide and self-harm — promoting, encouraging or giving instructions for suicide, self-harm or eating disorders. Talking about your own experience or looking for support is fine.
If you see someone who may be at risk, report it in the app. If they're in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first.
06 · Illegal goods and activity
Illegal goods and activity
Don't use FOMO Social to buy, sell, promote or arrange anything illegal, including:
- Drugs — selling, buying or promoting illegal drugs, or prescription drugs without a prescription.
- Weapons — selling, trading or giving away firearms, ammunition, explosives or other weapons, or explaining how to make them.
- Alcohol and tobacco for minors — selling, giving or promoting alcohol, tobacco, vapes or cannabis to anyone under the legal age, or helping them get it. When an organizer marks drinks or other items on a ticket as age-restricted, the app only sells that ticket to people whose date of birth shows they meet the event's minimum age, and staff are asked to check ID before serving them.
- Tickets you don't own — selling or offering tickets you don't have, selling fake or copied tickets, or reselling tickets above face value.
- Other illegal activity — stolen or counterfeit goods, unlicensed gambling, human trafficking, or anything else that's against the law.
07 · Scams, spam and fake engagement
Scams, spam and fake engagement
- Scams and fraud — tricking people out of money, tickets, points or personal information, phishing, or fake giveaways.
- Fake events — creating or promoting events that won't happen, or giving false details about an event, its lineup, venue or tickets.
- Spam — posting the same thing over and over, mass messaging people, or posting misleading links.
- Fake engagement — buying, selling or trading likes, follows, comments or views, using bots or fake accounts, or trying to earn FOMO Partner points with posts that aren't genuine.
FOMO Partner posts should be real posts about places you actually go. Follow each campaign's rules and any advertising disclosure rules that apply where you live.
08 · Impersonation
Impersonation
Don't pretend to be someone you're not. That includes:
- Using someone else's name, photos or identity, or running an account that looks like it belongs to another person, brand, organizer or venue.
- Pretending to be FOMO Social staff, or an event's organizer or door staff.
Fan and parody accounts are fine if their name or bio clearly says so and they don't mislead anyone.
09 · Privacy
Privacy
Respect other people's privacy and safety. Don't share:
- Private information — someone's home address, phone number, email, ID documents, financial details or exact location without their permission (doxxing), or threats to share it.
- Intimate images without consent — intimate or sexual images or videos of anyone without their consent, or threats to share them.
- People who don't want to be filmed — photos or videos of people who have asked you not to film or post them, or recordings made where people expect privacy, like bathrooms or changing rooms.
Events are busy places, but people can still say no. If someone asks you to take down a photo or video of them, please do. If someone posts you without your consent, report it.
10 · Intellectual property
Intellectual property
Only post content you made or have the right to share. Don't post music, videos, photos, artwork, logos or other work that belongs to someone else without permission, and don't sell counterfeit goods.
If you think your copyright or trademark is being infringed on FOMO Social, email legal@thefomosocial.com with a link to the content, a description of your work and your contact details. We may remove infringing content and close the accounts of repeat infringers.
11 · How to report and block
How to report and block
If you see something that breaks these guidelines, report it in the app. We never tell the person you reported who reported them.
- A profile — open the profile and tap the flag icon. If there's no flag (a private account you don't follow, or an account that has blocked you), use Report a Problem in Settings and include their username.
- A post or Fort — open the post's ⋯ menu, or the Fort's menu, and tap Report.
- A comment — swipe the comment left, or press and hold it, and tap Report comment.
- A story — open the story's menu and tap Report to report the person who posted it.
- Someone who messaged you — open their profile from the chat and tap the flag icon, or use Report a Problem in Settings with their username if there's no flag.
- Anything else — go to Settings and tap Report a Problem.
Choose the reason that fits best and add any details that will help us. For anything involving a minor, choose "Child safety (involves a minor)". You can also report on the web at thefomosocial.com/report.
To stop someone from reaching you:
- Block them — open their profile and tap the block icon, or tap Block this user in a post's or Fort's menu. After you report a profile, the app also offers to block that person.
- What blocking does — a blocked person can't message you, comment on your posts, or see your memories, stories or event attendance, and you won't see theirs.
- Unblock — go to Settings › Blocked Accounts.
- More controls — in Settings you can make your account private, restrict people, and choose who can comment on your posts.
12 · What happens when rules are broken
What happens when rules are broken
We review reports and act on content and accounts that break these guidelines or the law. Depending on how serious it is, and whether it has happened before, we may:
- Remove content — take down posts, Forts, stories, comments, messages, profile details or events that break the rules.
- Warn you — tell you which rule you broke.
- Limit features — for example, stop you from posting, messaging or joining FOMO Partner campaigns, or withhold points earned by breaking the rules.
- Suspend your account — lock your account for a period of time.
- Ban you permanently — close your account for good. After a permanent ban, you may not create another account.
- Report to the authorities — we report child sexual abuse material to NCMEC, as US law requires, and may report credible threats or other illegal activity to law enforcement.
For the most serious violations, like child sexual exploitation, credible threats of violence, or selling drugs or weapons, we may ban an account straight away without a warning. We may also remove events, campaigns or rewards that break these guidelines.
