Delete your account.
Last updated: October 6, 2026 · For the FOMO Social app by Dealide Inc., on Android and iOS.
This page is for the FOMO Social app on Android and iOS, published by Dealide Inc. You can delete your FOMO Social account and its data here, without installing the app. Deletion is permanent and happens as soon as you confirm.

Delete it in the app
You can also delete your account in the FOMO Social app:
- On the Home screen, tap the menu icon next to the notifications bell.
- Tap Settings.
- Under Account, tap Delete Account.
- Read what you'll lose, then tap I want to delete my account.
- Enter your current password and tap Delete forever.
It deletes the same data as deleting your account on this page.
03 · Can't sign in?
Can't sign in?
- Forgot your password? — choose Forgot your password? under the sign-in form above. We'll email a code to the address on your account, you choose a new password, and then you can sign in and delete your account. Changing your password signs you out of the app on every device.
- Your two-factor code didn't arrive? — check your spam folder, then choose Send a new code. Each code works for 15 minutes.
- No longer have access to your email? — email privacy@thefomosocial.com with your username. We'll ask you to show that the account is yours before we delete it.
04 · Before you delete
Before you delete
- Tickets — tickets you hold leave your account, so you can't open them in the app any more, and deleting your account doesn't cancel or refund them. A ticket you saved to Apple Wallet or got by email still works at the door. If you won't be going, ask the organizer about a refund before you delete. If someone else bought a ticket and entered your name or email as the attendee, that stays on their order.
- Gifted tickets — a ticket someone is sending you goes back to them. A ticket you're sending can still be accepted by your friend.
- Points and rewards — your points balances and reward claims are deleted, including rewards you haven't used yet.
- Resale listings and offers — listings still for sale are taken down, offers you made are withdrawn and offers made to you are declined. Money already paid out to your Stripe account isn't affected.
- Group chats — you leave every group chat. A group you created passes to the member who was added earliest and is still in it; if nobody is left, the group and its messages are deleted. Messages other members sent stay.
- Subscriptions — there are none to cancel. FOMO Social has no subscriptions.
- It's permanent — we can't restore a deleted account. You can sign up again with the same email address, but you'll start from scratch.
05 · What we delete
What we delete
As soon as you confirm, we delete:
- Your profile: name, username, email address, phone number, date of birth, gender, bio, password, privacy settings, any location saved on your profile, and your profile photo file.
- Your memories, Forts and stories, including their photo and video files.
- Likes, comments, bookmarks and shares you made, and the likes, comments, bookmarks and shares other people left on your memories and Forts or sent to you.
- Your direct messages and conversations. They are deleted for the other person in the conversation too.
- Your messages in group chats, emoji reactions you added, reactions other people added to your messages, and your group memberships.
- Followers, following, friends, follow requests, blocks and restrictions, in both directions.
- Notifications you sent or received.
- Your sign-in history (device names and IDs, cities and session times).
- Events you created in the app, with their photo and video files and the requests, ratings and support requests attached to them.
- Your event RSVPs, hidden-attendance choices, event group-chat declines, announcement read receipts, event reminder history and any seat you were holding.
- Verification requests you submitted.
- Push notification tokens and notification settings.
- Your connected Instagram account (including its access token and the profile details, posts and stats we pulled), your Partner/creator profile and campaign activity, your points balances and the record of points you earned, and your reward claims.
- Ticket-resale data: saved searches, your watchlist, listings you liked or viewed, reviews you wrote and reviews written about you, notes you wrote on your listings, and messages you attached to offers.
- Your ticket selfie photos that are still attached to your tickets. If the same photo is also attached to a ticket someone else holds, that copy is removed with that ticket's photos after the event.
- Instagram handles you recommended to an event organizer, and your note. If another guest recommended the same person, their recommendation stays, without your name or note.
- Every app session: you are signed out on all devices.
A photo or video file stays only if another account's profile, post, story, event or ticket uses the very same file (it then stays with that record), or if it's kept as evidence for a child-safety report (see What we keep).
06 · What we keep, why and for how long
What we keep, why and for how long
Some records have to stay after your account is gone. Here's what we keep, why, and for how long:
Ticket orders and payment records (tickets you bought, received as a gift or claimed with points)
Kept without your identity. The buyer name is replaced with "Deleted user", and your email address, phone number, attendee names and emails, and selfie are removed. What remains is the event, the tickets, amounts, dates, status and the payment processor's reference. We don't store card numbers; card details are held by Stripe.
Why we keep it: Tax and accounting law, and handling refunds and chargebacks.
How long: 7 years
Photo-release (image consent) records
Kept as proof that consent was given (the consent wording, the event and the time), with your name, email address, IP address and device details removed.
Why we keep it: So an organizer can show that a photo was published with permission.
How long: As long as the ticket order it belongs to (7 years)
Ticket resale sales, payouts and offers; earlier in-app payment records; points accounting entries
Kept with amounts, dates, statuses and a numeric reference to your former account, which no longer points to anyone. They contain no name, email address or phone number. Your listings stay in the sales history; any that were still for sale are cancelled.
Why we keep it: Tax and accounting law, payouts, fraud prevention and payment disputes.
How long: 7 years
Reports and moderators' decisions
Reports you filed and reports about you or your content, including ticket-resale reports, and moderators' decisions on them are kept as filed, with the reason and any note. A report you filed keeps a numeric reference to your former account. The reported content itself is deleted with your account, except the child-safety evidence described below.
Why we keep it: Safety: to finish reviewing reports, spot repeated abuse and meet legal obligations.
How long: Until 1 year after a moderator acts on the report or dismisses it. A report still waiting for review isn't deleted, and neither is one whose child-safety evidence is still being kept.
Evidence for child-safety reports
If your account, one of your posts or comments, or a comment someone else left under one of your posts has a child-safety report on it, open or already closed, we keep a copy of the reported content and the identifying details of the account that posted it (user ID, username, name, email address, phone number, date of birth and sign-up date), together with the report itself. If your account itself was reported, the copy also includes your profile photo and bio, and the posts and stories you shared in the 30 days before the report: at most 100 posts and 100 stories, newest first. The photos and videos in the copy aren't deleted with the rest of your account. Direct messages aren't copied; they're deleted with your account.
Why we keep it: Child safety: so law enforcement can still investigate a report after the account is gone.
How long: 1 year after your account is deleted. Then a daily job deletes the copy and its photos and videos.
Invitations an event organizer sent you
The organizer's guest list keeps the name, email address or phone number the organizer entered. It is no longer linked to your account.
Why we keep it: It is the organizer's own guest list, entered by them.
How long: No fixed period; it stays with the organizer's event records
Database backups
Backups taken before you deleted your account still contain your data until they are replaced.
Why we keep it: Disaster recovery.
How long: Up to 90 days
Routine server logs
Routine logs may include your account number, IP address and the requests your app made, including a record that the account was deleted (account number and how many files were removed).
Why we keep it: Security and troubleshooting.
How long: 30 to 90 days
Copies held by our service providers
Deleting your account does not send a deletion request to providers. Stripe keeps payment records and, if you resold tickets, your connected payout account. Google Firebase keeps crash reports and analytics. Instagram (Meta) keeps the connection you approved until you remove it in Instagram. Our email provider (Resend) keeps delivery logs.
Why we keep it: These services process data under their own legal obligations and retention schedules.
How long: Set by each provider
07 · Delete some data, keep your account
Delete some data, keep your account
You don't have to delete your account to remove something. In the app:
- A memory or Fort — open its ⋯ menu, or the Fort's menu, and tap Delete. Its photos and videos, likes, comments, bookmarks and shares are deleted with it.
- A story — open the story's menu and tap Delete story.
- A comment — swipe your comment left and tap Delete, or press and hold it and tap Delete comment.
- Your Instagram connection — open FOMO Partner from the menu, go to Connected accounts and tap Disconnect. We delete the access token and the follower and engagement stats we pulled, and new posts stop counting. We keep the handle and the posts we already pulled, so the points they earned stay.
08 · Organizer and brand accounts
Organizer and brand accounts
This page is for FOMO Social app accounts. Organizer and brand console accounts, the ones you sign in to at thefomosocial.com/login or with Switch to Event Account in the app, are separate. Deleting your app account doesn't close them, and closing them doesn't delete your app account.
The console doesn't have a close-account button yet. To close an organizer or brand account, email privacy@thefomosocial.com from the address on that account. A staff sign-in is removed by the brand that added it, under Staff in the console.
